    <p class="lead">The "Ozempic body" headlines started in late 2022 and have not stopped. Variety, the New York Times, and the Hollywood Reporter have all covered the same story from slightly different angles: a class of injectable peptide medications has changed how the entertainment industry thinks about weight, recovery, and red-carpet preparation. The headlines focus on weight loss because weight loss is photographable. The actual story is broader.</p>

    <p>Behind the scenes of that story is a quieter set of peptides that Hollywood has been using for years and that the public press is only starting to catch up to. Glutathione. NAD+. Sermorelin. Each one does something different. None of them are visible at the box office. All of them are showing up in clinic intake forms and drip-bar menus in Beverly Hills, Tribeca, and SoHo.</p>

    <h2>The Ozempic era, briefly</h2>

    <p>Semaglutide and tirzepatide, sold under the brand names Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound, moved from diabetes management to mainstream weight management to celebrity discussion in roughly three years. Oprah Winfrey publicly disclosed her use of a GLP-1 weight-loss medication in late 2023. Elon Musk attributed his weight loss to Wegovy in a 2022 social-media post. Sharon Osbourne, Tracy Morgan, Whoopi Goldberg, and Chelsea Handler have each discussed their own experiences with GLP-1 medications in interviews and on their respective shows.</p>

    <p>This is the part of the story that the public talks about. The trade press, including Variety, the Hollywood Reporter, and the New York Times Style section, has reported widespread use of GLP-1s ahead of awards seasons, film premieres, and major press tours. Producers and publicists have described a tightening calendar of pre-event preparation that increasingly includes a peptide program.</p>

    <h2>The iceberg below the headlines</h2>

    <h2>Glutathione and the drip-bar economy</h2>

    <p>Glutathione is a small peptide your liver produces, made from three amino acids: cysteine, glycine, and glutamate. It is the body's master antioxidant. It binds and neutralizes oxidative byproducts of normal cellular metabolism, protects mitochondria, and supports the liver's detoxification pathways.</p>

    <p>Hollywood has used it for years, primarily in IV form, for what trade press describes as a brightening and recovery effect on skin. Drip lounges in Los Angeles, New York, and Miami have built much of their business model around glutathione protocols. Vogue, Allure, and Harper's Bazaar have profiled the trend across multiple cycles. The injectable version, prescribed and compounded for individual patients, is the at-home equivalent of the drip-lounge ritual, with the pharmacy chain of custody intact.</p>

    <h2>NAD+ and the longevity drip</h2>

    <p>NAD+ has moved from longevity-research circles into mainstream wellness in roughly five years, propelled by public figures like Bryan Johnson, whose daily protocol is documented across his media presence, and a wave of biohacker podcasters who have made the molecule a household word in the wellness audience. NAD+ levels in cells decline with age, which has driven a market for both intravenous and injectable replacement.</p>

    <p>In Hollywood, NAD+ drips have become routine pre-event and post-event therapy at high-end longevity clinics. The injectable version, available through 503A pharmacies, is a more efficient and lower-cost alternative for patients who want regular access without the clinic visit.</p>

    <h2>Sermorelin and the growth hormone revival</h2>

    <p>Sermorelin is a synthetic version of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), a peptide your body makes to tell your pituitary gland to release growth hormone. In your twenties, this signaling system runs strong. Growth hormone supports muscle quality, recovery, sleep architecture, and skin elasticity. By your forties, the signal is quieter. Sermorelin restores some of the volume of that signal.</p>

    <p>The Hollywood Reporter and Allure have profiled clinics and physicians who prescribe sermorelin to actors and athletes who want to recover from training and filming faster. The molecule does not deliver growth hormone directly. It asks the body to make more of its own.</p>

    <h2>Why Hollywood was first</h2>

    <p>The entertainment industry has always been a leading indicator for personal-care technology because the financial stakes of looking a particular way at a particular time are unusually high. Pre-shoot weight changes, post-injury recovery, anti-aging maintenance, and pre-event preparation have always existed. What is new is the precision of the tools available.</p>

    <p>Peptides do not replace the work. Actors and athletes still train, still diet, still sleep. The peptides change the recovery curve, the metabolic curve, and the cellular maintenance curve. The result is a smaller gap between what the body is biologically capable of and what the role demands.</p>
